At Daily Bread, things rise early, and we’re not just talking about the dough. Tucked away in the heart of Groot Brakrivier, we serve up golden loaves, delicious coffee, and smiles warmer than a just-baked croissant.

Our breads are handmade fresh every morning (no shortcuts, only natural ingredients), from hearty sourdoughs to crusty ciabattas and those soft little rolletjies you’ll want to sneak a few of. Sweet tooth? We’ve got cinnabuns you won't be able to forget, plus small cakes, pies, and quiches that make breakfast feel like a holiday.

Coffee? Oh yes. We’re serious about it. But the only thing we love more than brewing the perfect cup is seeing you enjoy it - whether you're sipping slowly in our cosy space or dashing off with a take-away in hand.

What you see here is a bakery and coffee shop that, from the spark of an idea in Grootbrak to the day we opened our doors on 1 December 2023, took just seven weeks!

The dream of having a bakery someday started in April 2023. At that stage, we didn’t know how, when, or where.

It all began when, while on holiday in Plett, we stumbled upon a cute little bakery. This is where we fell in love with the idea of combining our love for people and coffee with the baking of breads. At the time, we ran two coffee stalls at a weekend market outside Pretoria.

We knew the first step back home would be to do a bread-baking course, which we completed in October 2023. Seven weeks later, on 1 December 2023, we opened Daily Bread in Groot Brakrivier. It happened much quicker than we could have imagined. Four months later, we moved to a bigger space on the same premises!

There’s still a lot more to tell about this journey. But come in, enjoy our coffee and something to eat, and maybe we’ll be free to tell the story ourselves.
